When you come across challenges in your business, what is your reaction?
It’s an important question to ask yourself as it determines your ability to move forward, thrive and make your business the most attractive it can be to your ideal clients. If you aren’t seeing growth in your business, you are probably feeling a perfectly natural emotion that is debilitating your decisions – FEAR OF FAILURE!
As an entrepreneur, I know this feeling well with plenty of these moments over the years. Many entrepreneurs go through this, but it just isn’t talked about enough. Well I’m about to change that and share the lessons I have learnt so that you can build the beautiful business you dream about!
The truth is that fear and failure don’t exist – it’s a product of our thoughts and imagination, preventing us from making choices that may benefit us. It’s okay to have an off moment, we are all human. But you need to understand that your thoughts shape your reality and if you let fear hold you back, your business will become just that – stagnant.
Consider what made you start your business in the first place. No doubt it was a big decision that came with risks, but you did it, right? Has it been a failure? Well you are reading this so probably not.
You are likely to come across many challenges in the future and, instead of feeling overwhelmed and procrastinating on making a choice, give these a try:
- Keep in mind why you started in the first place and what you enjoy most about what you do. Having your own business is supposed to be FUN!
- Reflect on your past challenges, your choices, and the outcomes. You may find the answer you are looking for from your own life experience, or at the very least, realize what a strong person you are – giving you the courage to tackle the next challenge head on.
- Look at each challenge as a steppingstone to your ultimate success – not as an opportunity to fail. A different perspective is always helpful when it comes to overcoming fearful thoughts.
I look at challenges a little differently, I don’t shy away from them because I know that there is going to be a lesson for me at the end that will help shape who I am meant to become and what my business is supposed to look like. Having this mindset has been a key driver of my success as a business owner today.
