Flodesk vs ConvertKit: How to Choose the Best Email Platform
IIf you’ve been in the online business space for any length of time, you’ve probably heard of both ConvertKit and Flodesk. They’re two of the most popular email marketing platforms for entrepreneurs, coaches, and course creators.
I personally used ConvertKit (also known simply as KIT) for years before switching to Flodesk, and today I’m breaking down why I made the switch — and why Flodesk vs ConvertKit is a comparison worth paying attention to if you’re choosing an email platform.

Why I Made the Switch from ConvertKit to Flodesk
For years, ConvertKit was the standard for online business owners. It integrates with a ton of tools, it’s widely recommended by marketers, and it gets the job done. But over time, I realized that ConvertKit came with a growing price tag and increasing complexity that just didn’t fit the way I wanted to run my business.
Every time my email list grew, my bill grew too. And as someone who is constantly running virtual summits and list-building events, I knew my email list wasn’t going to stay small. Paying more just because I was doing what I was supposed to — growing my audience — didn’t make sense to me.
That’s when I started looking at Flodesk more seriously.
Flodesk vs ConvertKit: Pricing and Value
This is the biggest and most obvious difference. With ConvertKit, your pricing is based on the number of subscribers you have. The more people on your list, the higher your monthly fee. That can quickly jump to $99/month or more if you have a few thousand subscribers.
Flodesk, on the other hand, offers a flat fee model. Whether you have 1,000 subscribers or 50,000 subscribers, you pay the same price. That flat rate is currently $38/month (or $418/year). And if you sign up using my affiliate link, you’ll lock in 50% off your first year — just $19/month.
No other major platform that I know of offers this kind of unlimited pricing. It was a huge reason I made the switch.
Ease of Use: Which Platform Is More Beginner-Friendly?
When it comes to day-to-day usability, Flodesk wins hands down for me. The platform is visually driven, intuitive, and easy to navigate. I didn’t need a bunch of tutorials to figure out how to set up my automations or design beautiful emails.
ConvertKit is powerful, but it’s also more complex. If you’re the type of business owner who thrives on simplicity and wants to focus on serving your audience instead of troubleshooting your tech, Flodesk makes that possible.
Funnels and Integrations: Where Each Platform Stands
One of the reasons I hesitated to move away from ConvertKit was funnels and integrations. With multiple summits and offers in play, I needed to make sure my automations would still run smoothly. But honestly? The move to Flodesk was easier than I thought.
Yes, I had to rebuild my funnels, but it turned into the perfect opportunity for a business refresh. I cleaned up outdated automations, streamlined my emails, and got rid of things I didn’t need anymore. It felt like a digital summer cleaning.
And Flodesk integrates with ThriveCart (my cart system of choice), which made the transition seamless.

Customer Support
Another reason I’m glad I switched is the customer service. Flodesk has been incredibly responsive. Anytime I had a question, I was able to get help quickly. For me, that level of support is just as important as features.
Which One Should You Choose?
If you’re in a stage where you need advanced tagging, super-customized funnels, or very specific integrations, ConvertKit might still be the right choice for you. But if you want simplicity, beautiful design, and pricing that doesn’t penalize you for growing your list, Flodesk is hard to beat.
And let’s be real — email marketing is one of the most important tools you’ll use in your business. Without an engaged list, it’s hard to build sustainable sales. I’ve proven that again and again through my virtual summits, which consistently bring in hundreds of new subscribers. If you’re curious about how to grow your list through summits, I cover that inside my signature program, the Virtual Summit Success Lab.
